Theme: Sustainability of Us (Mind, Body, Community)

We look forward to you joining us on April 4, 2015 to discuss a very important question that you may not have asked yourself before, but that we implore you to ponder about after hearing the talks: What sustains you?

This official TEDx event, independently organized by Punahou high school students, will feature 15 student speakers from 11 public and private schools across Oahu. They hail from a number of diverse backgrounds and communities, from Colorado to Kapolei. However, they all have one thing in common: they have something that sustains them. In fact, everyone has something that sustains them, whether they know it or not. The speakers will share a broad range of ideas, which reflect areas of their lives that, quite simply, sustain them. We hope that our young speakers will give you a fresh, new experience and point of view on sustenance and sustainability of not only the environment, but also the body, mind, and our community. We hope that in examining what sustains others, you might be able to find some passion or something that sustains you.

The "Sustainability of Us" theme invites local speakers to reflect on what sustains the mind, body and community as a whole, and allows students' voices to be shared in a public forum. The dynamic presentations aim to inspire attendees to engage in the community and create change at the grassroots level for a more sustainable future. In addition to the Talks, your ticket give you the opportunity to see other clubs and student community groups showcasing projects from throughout the year, hear live music, receive a TEDxYouth@Punahou t-shirt, participate in event activities, and enjoy delicious food from The Pig and the Lady, JJ Bistro & French Pastry, and Shaloha.
