In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Andreas Bischof

Andreas Bischof is a social and media scientist with a background in cultural studies. His research interests are (social-) robotics, social technology, the interaction of technology and humans, complexity reduction and methods of qualitative social studies. He is furthermore the co-founder of the Leipzig based DIY label „analogsoul“ and moderator at the famous online radio station „detektor FM“. So his daily work is presenting and explaining music to the market, but also the other way round when explaining the market to musicians. When not moderating or talking to people he is probably writing a blog post, presenting a radio show or watching sports. Anna Berkenbusch

Prof. Anna Berkenbusch is a university professor at "Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle" and a well-known designer. She was born in 1955 in Erwitte, Germany. From 1975 - 1979 she studied visual communications in Düsseldorf. Until founding Anna B. Design in 1989, she was the CEO of "DenkNeu! Gesellschaft für Kommunikation mbH". Starting from 1989 she als began to work as a professor. She taught at "Universität der Künste Berlin", "Hochschule der Künste Bremen", "Hochschule Anhalt", "Universität Duisburg-Essen" and finally at "Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle". Boris Grundl

Boris Grundl is a management trainer, entrepreneur, author, and owner of the Grundl Leadership Academy. His academy follows the credo of “Developing people –with system”. Boris Grundl has perfected the skill of leading himself and others at the highest level and is a popular guest lecturer at several universities for leadership topics. However, at the beginning of his life Boris Grundl had other plans. He studied sports and psychology in Cologne and just enjoyed his life. One day, while jumping off a cliff in Mexico, he got 90% paralyzed. What a shock for a young sports man. But he didn’t give up. He got back on track and became a successful wheelchair athlete even starting at the Paralympics. From this tough experience Boris Grundl learned a lot, which can be transferred to leadership. In his talk he refers to his learnings of “How you become the best you can be”.

Dolus Mutombo

Congolese, multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter Dolus Mutombo has thrilled crowds around the globe. Born and raised in the Congo, he taught himself how to play music with a self-built guitar when he was only six years old. In 2002, Dolus moved to South Africa. There he was exposed for the first time to World Music, Reggae and Singer/Songwriting. Miriam Makeba, Lucky Dube, Lokua Kanza and Richard Bona lit a new passion in him and set his gospel artistry ablaze. In 2010, Dolus emigrated to Germany where he currently resides and works. He released his first album “Long Journey” in 2014. His self-composed and written songs are in English, French, Lingala and Swahili. His repertoire varies from feel good tunes to thrill of joy tracks. With rusty vocals, yet optimistic energy - Dolus takes his listeners on a journey through the Congo and around the world. Dr. Tobias Gantner

The focus of this talk is to look at patient empowerment from the view of innovation based on democratization. It bridges gaps between history, health-care and other humanities with a clear focus on those, health-care systems exist for in the first place: the patients. Dr. Tobias Gantner is a fully licensed physician. He has a degree in philosophy, economics and law. After a number of strategic and leading positions with big names in the health-care industry he founded the HealthCare Futurists (HCFs). The HCFs are an independent international think tank in all matters related to health-care, life-sciences and medicine. Their focus is innovation and outcomes in health-care. The HCFs run health-hackathons and innovation labs with startups and established companies alike. All members share a persistent passion for patients. Florian Hill

Florian Hill completed important first ascents, for example the route “deliver me” at the infamous south-face of the Illimani (6,439m) in Bolivia. Florian Hill regularly gives lectures about risk and decision, and leadership enhancement worldwide. In 2012 he founded the hillalliance® an advanced service provider promoting transatlantic business with a focus on the United States and Germany. Jana Tepe

Jana's background is in Marketing & HR, with a focus on the future of work. After having completed her master's program in „New Media and Communication“ in the Netherlands in 2011, Jana came to Berlin to recruit talents for startup companies, developed the idea of Tandemploy together with her colleague Anna Kaiser and started it 8 weeks later. For the idea of Tandemploy, Jana and her co-founder Anna won several prizes and a 1-year grant from the German government. They have become experts on the job-sharing working model in particular but also for a new way of working in general – and have received attention and requests from dozens of countries all over the world. For example, Jana is currently advising the Czech Ministry for Social Affairs on the topic of job-sharing. Michael Carl

Michael Carl is Director of Analysis and Studies at the 2b AHEAD ThinkTank based in Leipzig, where he heads the think tank's Research and Studies Department. After completing his studies in Theology in Germany and Great Britain, Mr. Carl worked in journalism, where he was employed by various public and private radio stations as editor and program host. After several years as personal advisor to the radio director for the German network ARD, Mr. Carl moved to the field of research. His first task in this field was the establishment of the strategic office for Berlin-Brandenburg Radio. As the head of this office, Mr. Carl was responsible for major structural, strategic and HR projects. As an independent consultant, Mr. Carl’s areas of focus lay in the media and finance sectors and in the commerce and IT industries. Olga Reznichenko

The two young musicians met in 2012 during their studies at the University of Music and Theatre "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy“ in Leipzig. Sophia Bicking, born in Berlin and Olga Reznichenko from the Russian Taganrog found each other as good friends and musical companions. They started working intensively and their Duoproject. Their music consists of Originals and rearranged Popmusic (Massive Attack, Kings Of Leon, Rihanna) which brings a fresh, new tone to the popular tunes. They also enthuse the great Jazz pianist Richie Beirach with their own Arrangements of his classic compositions. Pater Justinus C. Pech

Pater Justinus C. Pech is a Cistercian monk and currently Professor for fundamental theology at the University "Benedikt XVI." in Heiligenkreuz, Austria and has several teaching appointments at other universities. Before he joined the University "Benedikt XVI." he worked for the Vatican in Rome, the center of the catholic church. Pater Justinus studied business and theology in Frankfurt, Leipzig, Madrid and Rome and is one of the few people in the world combining business and theology in his academical life and research. Sophia Bicking

Tom Mitchelson

Tom Mitchelson is an author and immersive journalist. What Tom loves doing is finding stories and experiences that tap into the spirit of the age, both mainstream and the more curious corners of the UK and abroad. He will immerse himself into some fairly extreme, a-typical situations in the name of cultural commentary. Tom's first book, Shut Up and Kiss Me, was published in 2010 and he now claims to be a leading expert on osculation. He has freelanced as a feature writer for The Times, The Independent, The Guardian and The Daily Mail and been sent on various, exciting missions - sleeping rough in Gatwick Airport, going undercover to investigate a dubious male-bonding cult, living as a woman for a week and investigating Russian gold diggers, all in the name of immersive journalism. Vince Ebert

Vince Ebert, phycisist and comedian, shows why the world isn't computable and how this can be in our favor. Vince Ebert was born in 1968 in Amorbach in Germany’s Odenwald region and studied physics at Würzburg’s Julius Maximilian University. After graduating, he worked in management consulting and market research before launching his stage career as a cabaret artist in 1998. Vince Ebert’s mission is to convey scientific contexts with the laws of humour.
