An eight-time Academy Award nominee, actor Glenn Close earned her first nomination for her film debut, The World According to Garp. Throughout her career, she has delivered iconic performances in a slew of films including The Big Chill, The Natural, Fatal Attraction, Dangerous Liaisons, Albert Nobbs, The Wife and Hillbilly Elegy. Starting in 2007, she headlined the television legal thriller Damages for five seasons, winning two consecutive Best Actress Emmys. In 2010, inspired by firsthand observations of mental health struggles in her own family, Close cofounded the nonprofit Bring Change to Mind, dedicated to ending the systemic stigma and discrimination around mental illness. The organization seeks to establish high school clubs around the nation that empower students to advocate for one another and create a culture of peer support. Bring Change to Mind is on track to have clubs in 550 high schools by fall 2023.
