The Charter for Compassion

The Talks in this Theme look at compassion, the best idea humanity's ever had. Leaders from many faiths, science writers and scholars examine the common theme of most world religions and moral codes: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Compassion is the heart of Karen Armstrong's 2008 TED Prize wish, to write a Charter for Compassion that presents this astonishing idea we all share. On November 12, 2009, we unveil the Charter to the world to read and affirm.
