In the past we, Portuguese, were known for always be looking over horizons.
Fearless navigators were searching for new worlds, even when no one believed that they existed.
Our everlasting nation has been always honored with its visionary and proud individuals, and many times one step ahead compared to the others.
Our past is golden, but it’s past.
Our future is not granted. It depends on what we do in our present.
The 2013 TEDxAveiro is preoccupied with our future.
We are looking for answers to the following question: how can Portugal, one more time, see over horizons and discover new worlds?
New worlds of ideas, trends of entrepreneurship, better models of citizenship, new technologies and innovations, new forms of art and ways of sustainable living… Discover potentials that we have and that we have to use more. Find new ways of putting Portugal back to the world map thanks to its discoveries. But we want to do that also celebrating our Past, our culture, our identity.
This is what this year’s TEDxAveiro is going to be about.
We don’t want just to retell stories. We want to make new ones.
We don’t want just to talk about ideas. We want to make good ideas happen.
And we don’t want to wait for someone else doing it. We want to start today.
One Past, what Future?
