Theme: Sources of optimism

One can believe in a better future without having any special reasons. The argument between a pessimist and an optimist is often irresolvable, simply because it develops into an argument between reason and hope.

The positive side of optimism carries with it the right to be irrational, and it is probably because of this that we find it pleasant to find rather serious and even scientific reasons to meet the future with a smile.

On February 4, TEDxSkolkovo will welcome speakers who have found reasons to be optimists, and some have even gone further to create such reasons for others as well. The independently organized event, licensed by TED, will focus on the theme “Sources of Optimism.” Ten speakers will take the stage to tell real-life stories and demonstrate why one should not be afraid of the future.

Talks will cover how to be an active citizen and change the world around you, how to invent new projects and find colleagues, how to cure illnesses and achieve new results in the most important spheres of your life, and more.
