About this event
The Katipunan was born of an idea;
The idea that the Filipino people could live free.
An idea forged in blood among brothers
set ablaze by the thirst for freedom
An idea that spread in secret
and exploded in indignant revolt.
A single idea
That gave birth to many heroes
Gave life to a nurturing motherland
And gave rise to an indomitable people.
It was an idea that started a revolution -
An idea that shaped our history forever.
The Katipunan was a true testament
to the power of ideas
To a tiny spark’s power to start great fires
To an ideal’s power to stop even the deadliest of tanks
Today, the spirit of the Katipunan comes alive once more.
We invite you back to the birthplace of revolutions
To listen to new voices
with new things to say
To set new spirits on fire
To open up new perspectives
And inspire new dreams
We rekindle the fire of the Katipunan
With new revolutionaries
Facing new challenges
Facing them head-on with their ideas
Ideas that are worth spreading.
We invite you to Katipunan
To witness new revolutions.
