About this event

TEDxCluj #1 was held in May 2010, benefiting from the presence of 9 key note speakers and 99 influential people in the audience.

The theme of the first edition was Envisioning Cluj, while the on-stage host of the event was Tudor Giurgiu, well-known movie director and producer and the president of TIFF. Dan Cristea, reknown as ”the most conving man on the planet” for having one the European, World and Oxford Debate Championshis in the same year, was the first speaker in the history of TEDxCluj.

He was followed by Katie Rizvi (Vice-president al Little People Association; Romanian Woman of the Year in 2009), Sorin Misirianţu (Actor at the National Theatre in Cluj), Kai Jacobsen (Expert in Mediation and Peace Processes), Hedi Hoka PhD (Leadership and business coach, board director and psychology professor), Kingsley Nwabia (Nigerian artist, living in Cluj & Bucharest), Eusebiu Burcaş (Personal Finance Trainer & Consultant) and Cor Geertsma (Member of Supervisory Board of ISDC & Former CEO),

The agenda included two performances as well, with Aminda from Hazard and the Capoeira School in Cluj.

99 people attended the event, while a few more hundreds watched it online. The live audience was comprised of young professionals (30%), CEOs & entrepreneurs (23%), people in arts & culture (18%), medicine & science (15%), mass-media (14%).
