About this event
Join us for a relaxed evening of provocative TED talks and videos under the stars at the Fairchild Tropical and Botanical Gardens. Speakers will be discussing the uniqueness of Miami, how you live it, sustain it, protect it and develop it.
Scientists, foodies, thinkers, architects and educators will be invited to come and share their ideas on assisted migration, the blue butterfly, ecosystems, brain food, garden’s that feed the city, eating for success…and much more.
Confirmed Speakers
-
Carl Lewis
Carl Lewis, Scientist, Explorer and Director of Fairchild Tropical and Botanic Garden in Miami Florida, explains the moment of inspiration that led him to become a scientist, and how his 6 year-old daughter has helped pollinate the African sausage trees at Fairchild. She is an example of his formula for inspiring today's children to discover, enjoy and take on science as a career. -
Chad Oppenheim
Chad Oppenheim, architect, takes us on a journey from Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained. Today, architects must go beyond building "green" to rebuild Earth's ecosystems. -
Nick Gunia
Nick Gunia, Founder and Chair of Dream in Green, explains his journey from the corporate dream to his "dream in green", and how what appeared a complex problem had a simple solution: children as the agents of change for a better, more sustainable world.
