TEDxDeadSeaSalon is an opportunity to be informed, inspired and entertained by enthusiastic speakers from around the world who have amazing ideas worth spreading despite time barriers and physical distances. It is also a chance to discuss controversial issues that shape our beliefs and govern our lives in an attempt to become more conscious and conscientious.

TEDxDeadSeaSalon will take place once a week, where we will be screening a TED talk, a TEDxDeadSea Talk, and/or a TEDx Talk, in addition to an entertaining live performance or speaker. A discussion among the audience will be held afterwards on the ideas presented and we will host a TEDxDeadSea speaker to lead a live discussion on his/her TEDx Talk when possible. The Salon is going to be thematically based, where each theme shall be completed within a monthly cycle. Our first cycle is Education. Accordingly, the first Salon will be conducted in Amman, and repeated in another Jordanian city the following week. This cycle will be repeated bi-weekly, where the duration of every cycle is a month. This is to enable as many people interested as possible to have the opportunity to participate.

Mohammad Alhajji

Mohammad is an IT graduate with an MBA degree from NYIT University in Amman, Jordan. He is currently an Internal Auditor for Aramex. He grew up with the passion of bringing things back to life, using any materials available around him to build things; he tends to do this at his free time as a hobby. Having the childhood ambition and traveling to many countries as part of his job enlightened him to look at things from a different perspective, leading to a dream that all people should become aware of: the importance of waste being recycled and turned into useful and beautiful objects.

Henna Al-Khalili

Henna Al-Khalili is driven by her passion to create eco-friendly and sustainable habitats focusing on social entrepreneurship to empower woman and support communities. She hopes to preserve the cultural identity of the communities she works with while promoting the best ecological practices, knowledge, health, awareness and sustainability. As the founder of “7enna wa 6een”, Henna focuses on building ‘Eco-domes’ an alternative way towards building “Green” habitats using designs that are based on the timeless principles of “bio-mimicry” (From bios meaning life and mimesis, meaning to imitate,) which include the use of universal natural elements (earth, water, air and fire), the arch and its derivatives, along with green technology such as photovoltaic cells and other methods of producing sustainable energy.
