Theme: TEDTalks Salon

This event occurred on
June 21, 2011
7:00pm - 9:00pm (UTC -4hrs)
Phoenixville, PA
United States

This salon was curated by the student member of our organizing committee, Julian Romano from Kimberton Waldorf School. Here's what he had to say about his program: In the June salon, we will have an arrangement of different style videos. I wanted to make it different so you get a wide grasp of everything that is going on in the world, everything from brain tech to music. This salon will have two musical portions, a video and a live performer named Trevor Gordon Hall. He does experimental guitar playing, and I like to say he is one of the greatest guitar players our world has ever seen. This will be a fun night of great and interesting information and music, so please come and see what my salon has to show you. There is something for everyone." As we gear up for our second annual live TEDxPhoenixville event on Sep 24, we’d like to share some of our favorite TEDTalks with you. Join us each month for a different program of compelling and inspiring talks. Each evening’s program will consist of pre-recorded TEDTalks plus one live performance. The salons will continue once per month thru August and will take place in the theatre’s third floor screening room. Seating is limited to 50 people. Tickets are $5 per person and can be purchased in advance online.

Trevor Gordon Hall

Trevor is an acoustic instrumentalist with compositions ranging from driving rhythms to soft melodic phrases. After independent release “Portraits of Imagination,” Trevor caught the eye of 9 time Grammy winning producer Joe Nicolo (James Taylor, Billy Joel, Bob Dylan, etc.) who assisted Trevor in 2 releases entitled “Finding My Way” and “Let Your Heart Be Light” through his label Revel Music. Trevor is gaining high rated reviews from industry professionals, giving him the opportunity to record with legends such as bass virtuoso Michael Manring as well as share the stage with guitarists such as Phil Keaggy, Erik Mongrain, Patty Larkin, etc. Trevor placed 3rd at the 2009 and 2010 International Canadian Guitar Competitions and has also recently redesigned an instrument called the kalimba, with help from Martin Guitar and various builders, which mounts on the surface of his guitar. His music has been on local radio and NPR stations across the country.
