Welcome to TEDxRundleAcademy, a youth event held by Rundle Academy, an independent school in Calgary, Alberta Canada.
We celebrate the ideas worth sharing of our students, alumni, and community members in a fun-filled, youth-centric event. 90% of our speakers are either students from our TED-Ed Club or recent graduates from Rundle Academy or Rundle College.

Our event is a family-friendly, yet thought provoking and edgy event. We engage all members of our school community in a myriad of roles.

Andreas Marinakos

Andreas is a grade 8 student who loves to write and think about the meaning of life. He is an inquisitive young man who is a passionate advocate for TED-Ed Clubs. He feels strongly that every person would benefit greatly from more hugs.

Ari Bouma

Ari Bouma is a grade 9 student who spends much of his time contemplating the meaning of life, the beauty of words, and ideas. He is an avid reader, a student of politics and an advocate for optimism.

Braelyn Roy

Braelyn Roy is a grade 6 student who investigates how music is a powerful force in our lives. She is a student athlete, ambassador and enthusiastic member of her school's TED-Ed Club.

Charlotte Warme

Charlotte Warme is a grade 8 student who is inspired and interested by the "hack your education" movement. She actively participates in as many extra-curricular activites as she can as she wants to make sure she does not close any doors. She is happy to share her thoughts on why students need choice in their education.

Dennis Kambeitz

Throughout his career, Dennis has experienced a high level of success by focusing on my clietn's needs and providing them with innovative solutions, whether they be strategic or product based. Through EZ-Robot, Dennis became involved in the Educational Technology sector, and discovered a passion for helping students use technology to achieve their greatest potential. It's his pleasure to assist educators in understanding what the future will look like, and to provide meaningful direction that will result in his students having a competivitve advantage in their education and careers.

Isabella Lupi

Isabella Lupi is a grade 8 student athlete, artist and animal right's advocate. She is a quiet force that gently and convincingly helps us understand that every living thing demands respect.

Juliana Van Oosterwyk Bruyn

Juliana is a grade 9 student and a self-professed creative. She is an avid crafter who enjoys exploring the creative process. She is also an athlete, gymnast and member of her school's spirit squad.

Liam Morrow

Liam is a grade 8 students who is constantly exploring the intersection of science, mathematics, pyschology and philosophy. He is a thinker who has come to understand that we must never dampen the creative spirit, for it is from seemingly crazy ideas that innovation springs forth.

Mathew Dixon

Mathew Dixon is a grade 6 student who is fascinated by innovation, engineering and airplanes. He wants us to all know that impossible is not in his vocabulary.

Owen McIntosh

Owen McIntosh is a grade 9 student who is a student of great books and great movies. He is on a mission to ensure that his favorite books never end up as terrible film adaptations.

Rob Fiorentino

Rob is an mechanical engineering graduate from the University of Victoria and has spent the past 15 years working in the Canadian oil and gas industry. He is passionate that both his family and Canada have bright and promising futures in our quickly changing world. Rob has seen a lot of change in the oil industry over his career and believes the most revolutionary changes are yet to come.

Sam Sawchuk

Sam Sawchuck is currently the co-founder of Sandwich for a Story, a unique awareness initiative that looks to break down stigma between the homeless and the rest of society. Sam is currently a 4th-year student at the University of Calgary studying Communications. A passionate believer in the power of technology to connect and inspire, Same has held a variety of positions in the technology industry at Ayogo Health, Uber and Startup Calgary.

Sarah Fawcett

Sarah Fawcett is a grade 12 student who is deeply passionate about creating a world where cyberbullying no longer exists. She is a vocal and committed advocate for digital citizenship and has worked hard to bring awareness about digital citizenship to her school.

Zander Clay

Zander Clay is a grade 8 student who loves to play video games. But he also love sports, school, his friends and his family. That is the point. Zander is a typical teenage boy who wants the world (mostly adult) to understand that video gaming is a legitimate activity that teaches him as many life skills as does school or playing sports.
