In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Alex Roy

Alex Roy has driven farther and faster – on public roads – than almost anyone alive. With a perfect safety record across countless events – legal and illegal – on four continents, Roy is best known as the first person in 23 years to break the 1983 U.S. Express cross-country driving record – immortalized in “Cannonball Run” – going from NY to LA in 31 hours and 4 minutes. Roy is also author of “The Driver” and Executive Producer of “32 Hours, 7 Minutes”, which deconstruct the mythology of the Cannonball Run and document the true history of underground endurance racing. Roy is also a columnist for Jalopnik and co-host of /DRIVE. He has spoken at MIT, Stanford, Google & the FBI, and was kicked off of Letterman for asking Dave about his speeding tickets. Roy’s one true passion is The Moth, of which he was Chairman when its office was in his living room back in 2002…but that’s a story best told from the back of an autonomous car.

Bernard Gauvin

Graduated from Concordia University in Montreal with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and international business, Bernard has twenty years of banking experience - fifteen of them spent in Asia. As a foreign exchange trader and later regional manager Bernard develop his skills in risk management, business development and human resources. Since 2006, he holds the designation of Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) from the Association of Financial Professional. Bernard joined the Ecotierra team in August 2012, where he holds the title of director of marketing & finance and has one of it's shareholders, holds a seat on the board of director.

Brent Allen Winters

Brent Allan Winters is an American geologist, common lawyer, author, and teacher. “Our common-law way of life and thought,” says Brent, “it is not only the lifeblood and backbone of our U.S. Declaration of ’76 and Constitution, but is also the object of zeal that delivered our country to nationhood and remains the fellowship that defines Americans to the world.” Brent grew up on a farm north of Moonshine, Illinois; served as diver, U.S. Navy Mobile Diving Unit 1 and aboard carrier USS Coral Sea; worked as a geologist, mine operator and ran for U.S. Congress. Winters has briefed cases in the United States Supreme Court, argued before the jury and appellate courts (both State and Federal), and has represented clients in foreign countries.

Isaac Eddy

Isaac Littlejohn Eddy lives in Johnson, VT with his wife, their two year old daughter, their dog, and seven hens. For twelve years Isaac has performed with Blue Man Group in New York City, Chicago, London, and Las Vegas. Isaac is also a founding member of the immersive theater group, Fixed Agency. Isaac has led workshops and lectured on improv, acting, and devised experimental theater. Isaac has joined the faculty at Johnson State College in 2015 as their Assistant Professor of Theater and Drama. Isaac is also a writer and a cartoonist and has been published in the New Yorker and in the weekly newspaper, The Herald of Randolph, Vermont. He makes animated documentary shorts for Time Magazine and has a non-fiction multi-panel series about the people that live and work in his neighborhood published in the New York Times’ Brooklyn blog, “The Local.” Isaac also created and animated the online series, “Cat, Dog, Stoop.”

Martin Armstrong

Martin Armstrong is an American economist best known for discovering the relationship between pi and the business cycle, expressed in his Economic Confidence Model. As the former Chairman of Princeton Economics Institute, Armstrong gained international popularity for his accurate predictions, earning the nickname “Mr. Yen” in Japan and the title of Hedge Fund Manager of the Year in 1998. In 1999, Armstrong learned of the harsh realities of the American justice system when he was wrongly accused of fraud and became the longest federal civil contempt prisoner in American history. Currently, Armstrong operates an active news blog that focuses on the global economy. His latest and largest project – Socrates – is an AI system that monitors the entire global market by tracking international capital flows. Armstrong aims to provide a public service for the average person to comprehend the global economy and for professionals to access the most sophisticated international analysis available.
