In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Hakim Young

Hakim Young is a medical doctor from Singapore who has been involved in humanitarian and social enterprise work in Afghanistan for the past 10 years. Dr. Young has served for much of this time as a mentor for the Afghan Peace Volunteers, an inter-ethnic group of young Afghans dedicated to building non-violent alternatives to war. Dr. Young is the 2012 recipient of the International Pfeffer Peace Prize.

Nabila Moradi

Nabila is an organizational Development Specialist at Counterpart International in Afghanistan. She holds a Masters of Law (LLM) degree in Democratic Governance and Rule of Law from Ohio Northern University, and completed her LLB degree in Law and Political Science at Kabul University. Nabila is also a member of the American Bar Association (ABA).
