MIT-onderzoeker Skylar Tibbits bestudeert zelfassemblage — de idee dat we in plaats van iets te bouwen (een stoel, een wolkenkrabber) materialen creëren die zichzelf bouwen, zoals een dna-streng zichzelf bijeenritst. Het is een groots concept dat nog in de kinderschoenen staat. Tibbits toont ons drie projecten uit het laboratorium die suggereren hoe zelfassemblage er in de toekomst zou kunnen uitzien.
