Ce l-a împins pe David Sengeh să creeze un membru protetic mai comod? Faptul că a crescut în Sierra Leone şi că prea mulţi din oamenii pe care-i iubeşte au membre lipsă în urma războiului civil de acolo. Când a observat că persoanele care aveau proteze nu le purtau, s-a pornit să descopere motivul şi să rezolve problema împreună cu echipa lui de la MIT Media Lab.
