Can AI accelerate a medical breakthrough?
About this video: When Jonathan Rezek was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, he discovered that there was no cure, just symptom management, aided primarily by a fifty year old drug. A longtime IBM sales executive, Jonathan had an idea: what if Watson, IBM’s artificial intelligence platform, could accelerate pharmaceutical research? With Watson’s help, a team led by an IBM scientist and Jonathan’s doctors are working to revolutionize Parkinson’s research in the hopes of finding a breakthrough treatment.
