Introducing TEDxYouth@QFIS: Where Student Voices Shape Tomorrow's World

Embark on a journey of ideas, innovation, and inspiration as we proudly present the inaugural TEDxYouth@QFIS event, meticulously crafted and passionately led by two passionate high school students, Omair Nawaz and Carlota Ibañez.

Set against the backdrop of the Qatar Finland International School (QFIS) auditorium, this event promises to ignite minds and spark dialogue on a global scale. From 8:30 am to 4:15 pm on May 22nd, 2024, it will surely be a day filled with captivating talks, engaging discussions, and the unveiling of thought-provoking insights. The conference is meant to be a platform where the voices of tomorrow take center stage. With students taking on the roles of both organizers and speakers, this event embodies the power of youth leadership and the potential of young minds to shape the future.

Under the theme of "The Modern Revolution," our speakers will delve into a variety of disciplines, showcasing their passion, expertise, and vision for a better world. From technology to social justice, from mental health to media, each talk will offer a unique perspective on the transformative changes shaping our society today. However, the excitement doesn't end there. As a testament to the event's multidisciplinary nature, we are thrilled to welcome a special guest whose insights will enrich our discussions and broaden our horizons.

In summation, TEDxYouth@QFIS is a movement driven by the belief that every voice matters, every idea has value, and every individual has the power to effect change.

I am a young student who aspires to make positive change in the world one step at a time starting with our people, and especially our generation of youth. I strive to one day become a voice for the voiceless and work towards achieving peace in the world we live in. I am Radio Lynx’s director and host, and hope to one day become a writer and journalist, documenting the world around us.

Anna Alatalo

High School Student
I am a high school student in grade 11, aspiring to become a dentist. Beyond that, I have a passion for social justice. I believe that standing up for what you believe in is a right everyone should exercise without fear. I want to encourage other people, especially girls, to never submit to pressure and to always challenge the status quo if it is unfair. To achieve this dream I have started a passion project called Bridging Perceptions with like-minded individuals from my school. We plan on educating our local community - and the rest of the world through social media - about injustices around the world that have been unrepresented by mainstream media. While this is still a work in progress, me and my colleagues are incredibly enthusiastic about this project and look forward to what we will achieve.

Ayse Demir

High School Student
In a world undergoing constant change, it is up to us, as youth, to not only acknowledge the morphing nature of fields like education, politics, and healthcare but to also harness our capabilities to discover and uncover the hidden chambers encased within the depths of both the world and ourselves. As an aspiring physician entranced by the wonders of neuroscience and genetics, I am looking forward to sharing a piece of the present, and the future, that lies in every one of us. Join me on an endeavor into what seems like philosophy but is more crisply described as reality.
