I think we’ve all at least once found ourselves looking up at the night sky and wondering what’s out there. After all, there are billions of mysteries to be found outside the safety and familiarity of our very special blue planet. So, for my TED talk, I’ve decided to discuss the beauty and importance of space travel, the many challenges which come along with it, and how we should allow these to motivate us to continue to stay curious about what’s in the unknown. Throughout my talk, I will explain the many fascinating things that come with space exploration, and how it can benefit us, humanity, all the way down here on Earth.

Throughout history, immigrants have been perceived as different or hostile to their environment and thus subjected to ostracization, primarily through discriminatory immigration laws. As a child of first-generation immigrants, I have witnessed firsthand the concomitant struggles that accompany being an immigrant. In this talk, I will highlight the discriminatory nature of contemporary immigration laws and offer my vision for what we can do collectively to break this chain of persisting injustice.

In today's age, the discourse surrounding body language has surged in both debate and media attention. But perhaps in all this whirlwind of information, we have lost the true fundamentals: What can body language really do? Is this nothing but a quick fix? Is it the ultimate 5-minute hack? Join me on this new collective journey that I encourage you all to embark on to make your body language a part of who you are again. Using my own personal experiences of growing into my confidence as a backdrop for my narration, this talk will challenge existing perceptions of body language and invite us to see body language in a new light.

In today’s increasingly globalized world, immigration and travel are commonplace. Having moved from Greece to Germany myself at a young age, I draw upon personal experience to explore how language barriers harm individuals, and more importantly, how we as a society can minimize this, thus helping build a more inclusive and welcoming future. During my talk, I will take you through my own experiences, widespread phenomena, as well as the solution that I have stumbled upon during my years at St. George’s and in Germany. Join me for a tale of struggle, perseverance, and ultimately, unity.

Interested in all things scientific, I decided to do my talk on a piece of revolutionary science on its way to becoming taboo. In my talk, I will explore the possibilities, hopes, and controversies surrounding Genetic Modification with the aim of deepening our understanding of a topic quickly becoming extremely relevant. As with all learners, I yearn to contribute my share to our reservoir of knowledge and to inspire others to do the same.
