In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Berk Ersoy

Marketing Lead
His business life started with helping his father in his goods trading business. He was dealing with bureaucracy, client communications, presentations at international trade fairs, and preparing agreements at 15 years old. That continued until he finished university, was studying geophysics engineering while being involved in coordinating multiple physics-related student projects and was responsible for the activities and deliverables of more than 100 students and in his spare time he was working with a business partner on running a digital advertising company for local small businesses. Moved to Varna 3 years ago to work in an American online marketing company, started in the research and development department, and got promoted into marketing lead within 3 months. Been working with that team, managing and growing the marketing department ever since and now, together with a new business partner, they’re helping local startups achieve their goals.

Daniel Costoff

Expert Ecology, Consultant
Daniel is an expert in the field of ecology, reverse logistics and the circular economy and is one of the founders of the e-waste recycling company Ecology. He has more than 25 years of experience in serving thousands of clients from state and local administration, IT, banks and large industries. Advises innovative companies and organizations on building comprehensive waste management systems and strengthening their environmentally responsible image. Creates corporate circular programs to reduce the impact on the environment and increase the loyalty of customers, partners and employees. Helps communities to create environmentally adequate and competent network structures with the main goal - waste reduction and their responsible recycling. He has hundreds of campaigns for recycling old electronics in municipalities, schools and business companies across the country.

Diana Nasteva

Mentor, Social Entrepreneur
Trainer, youth mentor, manager and social entrepreneur. She’s creative, loves people and helps. She graduated from the University of Economics - Varna with a degree in Marketing and Management and has 20 years of experience in the advertising business and the production of digital video production and animation, as a co-founder of the family company ORKA Studio. For ten years he has been involved in activities in support of young people and young people with disabilities. Her experience in advertising and business is upgraded with new skills and experience in training in non-formal education and social work. Anyone who knows her knows that she has long been helping children and young people with disabilities in the organization she founded - Association "No Impossible Things" - are trained in practical skills and work in the social enterprise of the association.

Galina Momcheva

Assoc. Professor, Head if Department of Computer Science
She is the Head of Department of Computer Science, Varna Free University ‘Chernorizets Hrabar’ and Co-founder of BioMed-Varna (an interdisciplinary research and entrepreneurial ecosystem focused mainly on Biomedical Image Analyses, Computational Life Sciences, and Neuroscience). Assoc. Prof. Galina Momcheva has the following areas of interest: Data Mining, Neural Network Design, Algorithms, Programming, Social Network Analyses, UI/UX. During her 28 years’ experience she was a mentor of outstanding projects of superior students. She is the founder of M.Sc. Data Science, M.Sc. Software Engineering and Management, and M.Sc. Interaction Design. She is leading research groups and a special program for university students ‘talented in research’ at VFU.

Galya Georgieva

Public Relations Manager
Galya Georgieva has been working in the Municipality of Varna for 9 years. He is currently head of the Public Relations and Administrative and Legal Department of the Varna Municipal Council Directorate. In the last few years she has been striving to innovate in the work of the directorate, and some of her ideas have already found their application. Workflow optimization and resource saving are her passion and leading motive for seeking technological solutions. Moderate dreamer. She holds a Master's degree in Public Administration and a Master's degree in Public Relations. A year ago she obtained a bachelor's degree in "Informatics and Computer Science" with a defense on "Digitalization of documents in the Municipal Council of Varna." She has worked as a marketing and advertising specialist, designer and journalist.

Irina is an experienced program and project manager, with a diverse international professional and educational background, Irina has rich experience in coordinating diverse teams in multicultural environment. Irina has experience in the public, private and NGO sector in Germany, Austria, Belgium, China, and Bulgaria her prior roles related to technology, economic development, education and youth entrepreneurship. She is an education and tech enthusiast and a community builder by calling, who describes herself as a tech-savvy language learner and a globe-trotter. Irina is deeply involved in developing innovative approaches to education and economic development in Bulgaria. She served as a Program Officer at the biggest funding institution in her country where she worked on a portfolio of programs and projects in the field of education and innovation. Currently, Irina serves as Chief Operations Development Officer in an organization with 25 years of experience in the country.

Milena Petrova is an addiction therapist, one of the heads of the therapeutic center for addiction "Only Today"; Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Association for Prevention and Work with Addiction - Today Only, Licensed Trainer at the Gordon Training Institute in the programs "Training Successful Youth", "Training Successful Parents" and "Training Successful Teachers". Milena likes to lead interactive trainings for different groups - teenagers, parents, young people, psychologists, social workers, which cover topics such as leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, prevention of addictions and risky behaviors, etc.

Nataliya Nikolova

Fine Arts Teacher
Natalia Nikolova is a fine arts teacher. She graduated from the University of Sumer with a degree in "Pedagogy of teaching fine arts." In 2012 she founded the Natalinko Workshop together with her friend. In parallel, she conducts art therapy in the pediatric oncology department of the University Hospital "St. Marina ”, where Natalia conducts creative activities for children in order to easily pass the stay and develop aesthetic perceptions and fine motor skills.

Ralitsa Zhekova

Professor and Executive Director of the Regional Agency for Entreprenuership and Innovations
Ralitsa Zhekova holds a PhD in Political Science. From 1999 till 2016 she has been working with Black Sea NGO Network – a regional association of NGOs from all Black Sea countries dealing with sustainable development issues. She is an Executive Director of the Regional Agency for Entreprenuership and Innovations – Varna since Feb, 2017. She has academic experience as a university professor for more than 25 years working in Bulgarian and foreign universities. She led more than 15 national and international projects under different programmes: FP6, FP7, INTERREG EUROPE, DTP, JOP Black Sea Basin 2007-2013, EEA Financial Mechanism, LLP, Erasmus+, etc. She is an author of 17 scientific publications.

Rumen Kishev

Prof. Dr. Rumen Kishev develops active expert and teaching activities in Bulgaria and abroad. For four terms he has been a representative for Southeast Europe in the Technical Committee on ITTC, and since 2013 he has been a member of the Advisory Board of this organisation. He led the specializations at the Center for Hydro- and Aerodynamics - Varna of students from Turkey, France, Germany and Ukraine on the problems of ship hydrodynamics and ocean engineering.

Vera Markova

Speaker, Waste reduction consultant
Vera Markova is a Speaker, Waste Reduction Consultant and Founder of the first online store with Zero Waste in Bulgaria - Green Revolucia. Vera has a bachelor's degree in Public Relations from the most prestigious university in Europe for the specialty Bournemouth University. In the last year of her education, she won a scholarship to volunteer on a green campus in India, where lives 2 years and sees practically how a person can live without leaving an imprint on the environment. She was inspired, collected ideas and in 2017 returned to Bulgaria to implement them.
