In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Lucy Dustman

Speaker
Lucy Dustman is a current senior at Seabury Hall. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Lucy moved to Qingdao, China and lived there with her family members for her first two years of high school before moving to Maui going into her junior year. Lucy has a strong passion for helping those in her community and for learning about global issues. She joined the TEDx program at her school this year to engage with those around her to try sharing her stories with them. In her free time, Lucy enjoys reading, participating in art projects, and spending time with family. She is very reflective and observational and is excited to share her thoughts and ideas with everyone through TED.

Megan Malcolm

Speaker
Megan Malcolm is a junior at Seabury Hall and is currently entranced by the performing arts, participating in dance showcases and multiple plays at her school. She also enjoys giving back to her community by mentoring young kids in chess at the Makawao Library and co-founding Seabury Hall Lego Club. As a driven and vivid person, Megan plans to develop her passions throughout senior year and into college. When a major life change affected her mental health, it caused Megan to learn a lot about herself, and the way we treat each others. Her hope with talking at TEDx is to raise awareness about teen depression.
