Ben Akumba
Akumba Ben Asamoaning is a youth development expert and a Business Development Consultant. He is a passionate advocate of youth development on continental Africa. At the young age of 24, he was appointed to the enviable position of Country Director of Amicus Onlus (an Italian NGO that focuses on education and health. As a resource person and an aspirational speaker, Akumba has graced prime platforms.
The majority of Akumba’s career has been focused on youth entrepreneurship for self –empowerment for which he has received state and corporate recognition for initiatives such as the Baobab Academy (a youth entrepreneurship and business development centre that has trained over 550 youths across the country and assisted some with micro-financing to start initiatives), the Amicus Youth Empowerment Summit (the foremost national youth platform in Ghana that attracts over 1500 participants each year. Mr. Chris Gardner was the keynoter for his 6th Summit) and the Biriwa Medical Centre ( a collaboration between Ghana Health Service, Mfantseman Municipal Assembly and Amicus Onlus, that has attracted 210 Italian Doctors over the past 6 years into the country). He is currently leading a team of experts in Europe and Africa, to roll-out the Baobab University College (a continental project with global faculties)- another gain for the youth Africa.
Aside speaking on various youth platforms, Akumba is a resource person for leading media houses in Ghana. Akumba holds post graduate degrees from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen.
