In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Anush Khachatryan

Linguist/Translator
Anush Khachatryan is a feminist, women human rights defender working in the sphere of women’s rights and gender equality in Armenia. Anush is a linguist-translator by her first education, later she got her second MA in Human Rights and Democratization in Eastern Partnership region. She has directed and implemented number of projects focused on Gender Equality and Gender Education, Women’s Empowerment and Leadership, Peace Building, Gender Based Violence and more specifically Domestic Violence in Armenia. Anush Khachatryan is currently involved in “OxYGen” Foundation for Protection of Youth and Women’s Rights as a Policy Advocacy Program Officer and in UNFPA Armenia as a Project coordinator fully engaged in policy development.

Arevik Hayrapetyan

Arevik Hayrapetyan is the Co-Founder of Kaizen Mastery, Life & Executive Coach and Inspirational speaker. While a student at Sheffield University, IF CITY College she initiated a self-directed research on Human Performance. As a result, she brought together cutting-edge findings of academic research on human potential, from a variety of disciplines, such as Neuroscience, Positive Psychology, Expert Performance and Experiential Learning. Her science-backed methods and tools have proven to be valuable for CEOs, managers and business companies in Armenia to best leverage their potential and maximize their performance. Since 2017 she started Kaizen Mastery Youtube Channel, called Kaizen TV (Կայզեն TV), where she shares her insights on how we all can become our absolute best via continuous growth, that is to say, via Kaizen Mastery.

Gevorg Tamamyan

Pediatric Oncologist
Gevorg Tamamyan, MD, MSc, PhD is a pediatric oncologist, hematologist at Muratsan Hospital Complex and lecturer of oncology at Yerevan State Medical University. MD and PhD degrees he received from the YSMU, MSc in Advanced Oncology from the University of Ulm (Germany), where currently he is a lecturer of pediatric oncology, and postdoc in leukemia completed at the MD Anderson Cancer Center (Houston, TX, USA). He also studied and worked at the Children’s Hospital of China Medical University (Taichung, Taiwan), St. Anna Children’s Hospital (Vienna, Austria), European Organization of Research and Treatment of Cancer (Brussels, Belgium), Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center (DF/BC; Boston, MA, USA). He is a recipient of IDEA (2013) and LIFe (2014) Awards from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, GLOBE scholar (2015) from DF/BC and 50 for 50 Young Leader (2016) from the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and other awards.

Liana Sargsyan

Youth Program Manager
Liana has moved to Yerevan from a small town on the north of Armenia in 2011. She has made her 18-year career though working mainly in charitable organizations and currently works as a Youth program manager. In her recent role, Liana actively promotes youth empowerment in the regions of Armenia particularly promoting youth participation and employment. Liana worked for other donor agencies to support improvement of VET system in Armenia, to help victims of earthquake with housing, and to teach English to children and adults in her small town. Liana’s employment and personal life were all based on breaking stereotypes principles. For a long time she worked without proper diploma, studied in non-proper universities, had boyfriends and married when pregnant. Only at the age of 37 graduated from UK based university with a degree of MBA. She is fond of big dogs but has a black cat and dreams to study IT, with her background of linguist.

Mariam Mughdusyan

Founder of Culture of Democracy NGO
Mariam Mughdusyan has graduated from Yerevan State University with the Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Later she earned her Master of Arts degree in Fine Arts from Yerevan Fine Art Academy. Currently, she is working on her Ph.D. in Journalism at Yerevan State University. From 2007 to 2012, Mariam has worked at Hetq.am as a correspondent. From 2013 to 2014, she was a painting teacher at Naregatsi Art Institute. In 2012, Mariam founded Culture of Democracy NGO and the main activities of this NGO is writing and editing articles, organizing events, debates and trainings. In 2014, she also founded the Mughdusyan Art Center to teach children to paint and implement various art projects. As of now, Mariam works at the Ministry of Justice in the RA as the Chief specialist of Personal data Protection Agency.
