ARMANDO PERSICO

PROFESSOR/TEACHER
Armando Persico is a chartered-accountant-turned-teacher who has been involved in teaching financial literacy and entrepreneurship since 1996. He has managed pioneering projects with European Schools for the last decade. His innovative approach to teaching has meant that his students have won 16 European prizes, including 4 Italian national competitions. Nearly 20% of Armando’s previous students are now running companies that have created 800 jobs in total; between them they have registered a number of patents. Armando’s teaching has received a great deal of recognition. He was JA-YE European Teacher of the Year in 2010, he won the JA Italy Ambassador Award in 2011, he received the Label International Award for Best Practice from the Ministry of Education in 2013 and the Confindustria Bergamo Teacher Award in 2015. In 2016 he was appointed Best Italian teaching activity, in 2017 e and Best Italian Teacher Prize. In 2017 he also received the prestigious Premio Italo Agnelli.

BEATRICE VENEZI

ORCHESTRA DIRECTOR/MUSICIAN
Beatrice Venezi has conducted the “Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti” of Naples since 2014. Alongside this prestigious role, she is pursuing an award-winning career as a pianist and composer. This sensational career path has led to international visibility, with performances in theatres all over the world, and a reputation as an ambassador of extremely high quality Italian culture. Today Beatrice Venezi is 27 years old, and over the years, she has worked on several renowned festivals, including the New European Festival of Stuttgart and the Bellagio and Lake Como Festival. In 2014, she held the opening concert of the 50th edition of the Pontino Festival of contemporary music. In 2016 she became Assistant Conductor of the State Orchestra of Armenia and in the summer of the same year she debuted at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago with Ferruccio Busoni’s opera, “Turandot”. Beatrice Venezi was recently appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago for 2017

CLAUDIO PELIZZENI

Claudio Pelizzeni, born in 1981 in Codogno, grew up in Piacenza. He graduated in Economics of Financial Markets and Institutions at the Bocconi University in Milan in 2004. For almost ten years he worked at various credit institutes in Milan until 2014 when he was vacant for the dream of his life: to complete an entire tour of World in 1000 days without ever taking any airplane. He is the founder of the successful Trip Therapy blog where he talks about his company writing articles and making videos for the Italian TV program “The World Insieme”. In February 2017 he succeeded in returning to Italy after traveling through 44 countries and 5 continents without taking airplanes. On the day of his arrival he also published his debut novel “Horizon, every day, a bit further” that reaches the 4000 copies sold in a few months.

CRISTINA POZZI

Cristina Pozzi is co-founder and CEO of Impactscool, open organization bringing immersive free education to schools and universities about exponential technologies, with a focus on social, moral and ethical impacts of the consequent changes. Impactscool aims to boost awareness and open a conversation with an innovative method and with a mix of online education and collaboration and offline events. Cristina is also Advisor and Angel Investor of several Italian and International startups and writes on her blog https://medium.com/imnoguru about tech and innovation and their impact on our society. In 2016 Cristina co-founded SingularityU Italy Summit. She is former co-founder and General Manager of the Italian tech success story Wish Days, created from scratch in 2006 and sold to an international group in 2016.

DANIELE GIGLI

MUSICIAN/SINGER
Singer and acoustic guitar player, one man band, innovator and renowned virtuoso in Live Looping. All of this has been said about Daniele Gigli, but you could say that he is simply one of the most awesome presences in the Italian Live Scenario. His style is a mix of blues, soul, funk, rock and jazz, blended with his unique sensibility in both guitar playing and singing. His vocal skills are sometimes overlooked because of his amazing guitar technique. The complete list of his live performances is impossible to enumerate. Along his career he shared the stage with Africa United in 2011, Bob Brozman in 2012, Modena City Ramblers in 2013, Greg Izor in 2016, Fabio Treves in 2016, Innes Sibun in 2017 just to name a few.

DOMENICO VITALE

As a native Italian, Domenico began his career at Saatchi & Saatchi in Rome. Twenty-five years ago, he bid farewell to the Coliseum and headed for the Big Apple, continuing his advertising career at Ogilvy & Mather, NY where he worked on esteemed brands such as Jaguar (Global), Ford Motor Company (Global), Motorola and Kodak. He also spent time in Amsterdam where he worked for MVBMS and Euro RSCG. Back to NY, after an experience in Lowe Wolrdwide, he created his own company: People Ideas & Culture and CY&N by PI&C (the content production arm). Focused on creativity, the company attracts big international clients very soon. Domenico is also a photographer and director with multiple wonderful pieces of work under his belt. He also has a Master of Arts in Public Communication from American University in Washington DC. Born in 1967, Gianluca has been working in the Internet sector since 1994 and in the startup and venture fields since 1998. He is founder and chairman of Primomiglio SGR, investment company authorized by Bank of Italy operating in early stage venture capital. Primomiglio SGR has launched Barcamper Ventures, its first technology venture fund. In 2006 Gianluca founded dpixel, a technology venture capital advisory firm that develops advisory and consulting project in the area of startups collaborating with very important partners. He started to operate as angel investor in 2003, funded and co-founded several startups and as an investor is active with over twenty investments in the Internet and software sector. Graduated in business at the University of Torino, he is the founder of IAB (Internet Advertising Bureau) in Italy, of First Generation Network, Techgarage Association and Fullbright mentor. MATILDE LEONARDI

Neurologist, paediatrician, bioethics expert
Neurologist, paediatrician at Carlo Besta Neurological Institute she is developing research projects related to neurology, disability, ageing, public health, ICF (WHO’s International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health) and burden of neurological disorders. She is an expert on disability, coordinator and partner of several EU research projects: MHADIE, MURINET, COURAGE in EUROPE, PATHWAYS, PARADISE, MARATONE. From 2010 to 2013 she was appointed President of the Scientific Committee of the National Observatory on Disability monitoring UNCRPD by the Italian Government. European Brain Council Founder and member of several national and international scientific societies such as EFRR and WFNR.

NICOLA BRUNO

JOURNALIST
Nicola Bruno is an Italy-based journalist, researcher and digital producer. He is the Co-founder of Effecinque, a news-agency developing innovative formats for digital media outlets. He is also a Partner of Dataninja.it, an award-winning data-journalism network working on data-driven investigations. Nicola Bruno has been a Journalism Fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford where he has conducted one of the first research on social media verification: “Tweet First, Verify Later. How Real Time Information is Changing the Coverage of Wordlwide Crisis Events”. He is the co-author of “La Scimmia che Vinse il Pulitzer. Storie, avventure e (buone) notizie dal futuro dell’informazione” (Bruno Mondadori), a non-fiction book focused on the most innovative journalism projects around the world. In 2016 Nicola Bruno has co-founded Factcheckers.it, a non-profit focused on the promotion of educational factchecking among students, teachers and parents.

LEG’GIO 4et
LEG’GIO 4et is a vocal ensemble born from an idea of Paola Milzani. It was assembled on the occasion of a Bergamo UNESCO event for the International Jazz Day promoted by the Learning Music Production Center Europe whose 30 year birthday falls this year. The ensemble presents unreleased songs composed and arranged by some of the most representative jazz musicians for the Italian jazz scenario. Among others: Claudio Angeleri, Gianni Bergamelli, Gabriele Comeglio, Marco Gamba, Michele Gentilini, Matteo Milesi, Emilio Soana, Gianluigi Trovesi, Giulio Visibelli. The singers Paola Milzani, Elena Biagioni, Simona Zambetti e Caterina Comeglio have a different artistic personality that comes to perfect harmony when they perform the solo part, the ensemble and the improvisation alternatively. The guitarist Michele Gentiloni who accompanies the ensemble is also the author of the composition released for TEDx Bergamo audience exclusively.

TEAGUE EGAN

Teague Egan is an entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropis
Teague started his first company, a record label, at age 21, and debuted his first artist at #1 on the iTunes charts. Shortly after at age 22, Teague expanded his company and became the youngest ever NFL agent for American football. With a change of vision, Teague decided to focus more towards technology and crafted his first invention by age 25 patenting Textile Graphene Component Thermal Fibers. Then came the philanthropy. At age 26, Teague created and completed the Reality Ride Challenge, a 2,109 mile bike ride from Boston to Miami to raise funds and awareness for paralysis. After a 2 year break he started Kindness365, lived on a tour bus for 7 months traveling the USA doing random acts of kindness for strangers. It has since become Kindness Is Cool. Now Teague splits his time between LA and Miami with his finger monkey, Saba, and runs Innovation Factory.

Vito Margiotta is a mobile entrepreneur, a former Google employee, a Singularity University alumni and the organizer of the conferences TEDxLecce and Mobile-Only Conf. He is the CEO of Seemba (goseemba.com | formerly Snapp), the first mobile business platform empowering SMBs in mobile-only economies to come online and to leverage on mobile services to grow their business. Vito is extremely passionate about the social impact of mobile technologies and was recently appointed to the Forbes 30 under 30 European Tech list of 2017 for his work in Africa, Latin America and Asia.
