TEDxAoyama – Women: Spaces and Places! Unique stories and perspectives for women and about women will be central to our compelling theme. When we first considered a first ever TEDx woman-centered event for Japan, there were so many images that sprang to mind. What spaces do women find important and what places do women occupy in their own diverse situations? In context of TED’s concept of “ideas worth spreading” there seemed to be a perfect fit for this theme, set in the beautiful surroundings of Aoyama from the iconic “tree-house” like vantage point of Canada Place, overlooking parts of the ancient palace grounds of Tokyo. Combined to give us a truly global perspective.

Countless barriers and opportunities exist for women around the world, and we wanted to invite the most inspirational women that we could find to talk about them. Our theme is really about finding the ideal place for women in the new order that is developing around us today. We are thrilled that you will be joining us to share your stories of the spaces you occupy and hold dear from your own unique perspective, and your thoughts about what spaces women should aspire to fill.
