TEDxHillAFB is making a second appearance on 25 April 2014 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.. This time we are adding live speakers. Enjoy the afternoon as take part in “ideas worth spreading.” This TEDx program is designed to give us the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences on Hill Air Force Base. At the conclusion of each segment we will break to provide an opportunity to discuss the topic that we just viewed in the open relaxed setting of the Landing. Please, feel free to enjoy the Landing’s new menu and wide selection of craft beers.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become even broader.

TEDxHillAFB Speakers:
Daniel Burton, the owner of Epic Biking, has returned from riding a bike across Antarctica to the South Pole. This was the first time this has ever been done by bike. He will be discussing the expedition and why he did it. He will also be talking about his charitable non-profit that gives bikes to kids in an effort to fight heart disease, diabetes, and obesity.

John E. Sohl, Physics faculty at WSU, optics, data acquisition, laser, atomic physics will be discussing Population Limits and the Sun… The one assured, long-term, energy supply that we have easy access to is the Sun. It turns out that this sets some serious limits on human population growth and the ultimate carrying capacity of planet Earth.

Sign-up are now open for all TEAM Hill AFB members and their families.
