Helping out at the local drop-in centre. Shoveling your neighbour's sidewalk. We do plenty of things naturally as humans out of pure kindness. And while being kind is important, there's an economic motivation for building strong communities. Citizens in our city and our country are increasingly living alone, and an epidemic of loneliness is taking root. What can we as individuals do about it? And why should we? The answer: it's good for the economy.
