What if we designed a school in the 21st century?

Péter Halácsy is a startupper, an engineer, a dad, a Hungarian. Co-founder of Budapest School, a network of 11 micro-schools of 300 children launched in 2015 in Budapest. He is the co-founder of Prezi, a presentation platform started from Budapest. Prezi currently has three offices in San Francisco, Budapest and Riga with 240 employees and 100m users globally.
Peter has also co-founded several social organizations. Bridge Budapest aims at boosting the startup community as well as shaping the IT scene in Hungary by showcasing great examples for building global, successful companies. The Hero’s Square initiative strives to eliminate indifference in Hungary by encouraging everyone to stand up and act for others every day.
The car industry has realized 50 years ago, that the mass of people doesn’t have only one need, everyone has their own preferences, desires, and habits, which the industry has to give a flexible response to. In a global industry such as education, however, there has not been a comprehensive paradigm shift, in which mass education is replaced by learning pathways tailored to the individual needs, skills, and goals. Ken Robinson, an education expert says that humanity’s second-biggest problem after climate change is the global crisis of education. The paradigm shift has probably never been more necessary and urgent than it is now.
