The morning of October 8 th 2001, Patrick Trancu (back then, a young communication manager) got the phone call that turned his life upside down. Today, when his mind gets back to Linate disaster, the airport’s empty aisles, the ghostly faces of victims’ relatives, he wonders: Why wasn’t that silence filled with communication? Why nobody bothered to speak welcoming words, words of care and empathic closeness?
