Dr. Mohamed Shaheen holds a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from McGill University, where his doctoral research focused on low-power electronics for mobile and biomedical devices. He has extensive experience in the innovation sector and is Founder and Chair of the Silk Road Institute, a Montreal-based arts social enterprise. Dr. Shaheen is a Fellow of the Ariane de Rothschild Fellowship in Social Entrepreneurship at the University of Cambridge Judge Business School, is an avid photographer, and his writing has appeared in the Montreal Gazette and the Globe and Mail. In his talk, Dr. Shaheen draws upon engineering principles to argue that “structured nonlinearity” is key to solving our contemporary challenges.
