Sarah Hesz and Katie Massie-Taylor met in a playground as tired new mums. In their garbled, sleep-deprived mumble of a conversation, they forged a connection that would change everything. The reality of becoming a mum is different for every women. But for every single individual, it’s a huge transition. One with wonderful highs and emotional lows. In recognising the importance of community and friendship for new parents, Sarah and Katie have developed a social app for mums: a place to connect with other local parents, and to find support online and offline. With 50% of mothers revealing they’d had mental health challenges after giving birth, but only half of those seeking help, apps like Sarah’s and Katie’s have never been more timely or important.
