얼마전까지만 해도 화면 안에서 수어통역사의 위치는 오른쪽 하단의 작고 동그란 원 안이었지요. 이제는 정부의 코로나19 브리핑 화면에 정부 당국자와 수어통역사가 동등한 비중으로 등장하는 시대가 되었습니다. 그러나 코로나19 여파로 많은 문화예술계의 공연들이 취소되고 있는 상황에 농인예술단체 [핸드스피크]도 예외일 순 없겠지요.
정정윤 대표는 이런 상황에서도 많은 관심과 도움으로 온라인을 통해 더 많은 관객을 만날 수 있다고 말합니다. 정정윤 대표는 문화예술 공연을 통해 청각장애-농아인들의 꿈을 좌절시키는 '문화빈곤'을 해결하고자 [핸드스피크]를 시작하면서 현재의 멤버들을 만났다고 합니다. 그녀와 구성원들이 함께 하는 큰 꿈을 어떻게 현실로 하나씩 만들어가는지 그 여정에 귀를 기울여 보세요.
Not long ago, the position of the sign language interpreter in the screen was in a small round circle at the bottom right of the monitor. It's time for government officials and sign language interpreters to appear on the government's COVID19 briefing screen. However, as many cultural and artistic performances have been canceled due to the aftermath of COVID19, the Handspeak, deaf people's art social venture, is no exception.
JeongYun Jeong, CEO of the Handspeak, says that even in this situation, more audiences can be met online with a lot of attention and help. She said she met the current members as she began her Handspeak to solve the 'cultural poverty' that frustrates deaf people's dreams through cultural and artistic performances.
