This month TEDx DUCTAC turns its attention to the nature and needs of the modern community. Speakers will illustrate how social gaps and deficiencies are approached from both the grassroots and government level. The two core philosophies which underlie the development of all social programs will also be a central theme. Amir-Esmaeil Bozorgzadeh, Co-Founder of Time Dirham, will explore the role of systems of economy in shaping a community’s inherent strengths and weaknesses. Dr. Eman Gaad, Director of Disability Services at the Community Development Authority, will discuss the importance of developing programs which empower and activate the socially isolated and marginalized.

Note - TEDxDUCTAC apologizes for the AV quality of this talk - technical difficulties with the camera resulted in raw material that was close to being unusable. Many trials later, to the exasperation of video editors and sound engineers, we make available the salvaged material for Amir's talk. Unfortunately, the recording of Dr. Eman's remarkable talk proved beyond our ability to repair.

Note to fellow TEDx organizers - if you have to choose between professional video capture (as in most of our other events) and a do-it-yourself approach, this is the one time you want to stay a thinker and steer away from being a doer. CC
