In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Prof Andrzej Blikle

Professor in the Institute of Computer Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences, member of Academia Europaea, Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board "A. Blikle Sp. z o. o." (between 1990-2010 - Chairman of the Board), President of the Family Business Initiative, member of the Mazowsze Quality Award Committee, Chairman of the Adam Smith Centre, member of the Polish Language Council and of several other organizations. In September 2009, ranked second (after Jan Krzysztof Bielecki) among the leaders in the THINKTANK magazine - "Who Listens to Business" ranking, which was conducted jointly with the Institute of Media Monitoring and Google. Sister Malgorzata Chmielewska

believes in a practical approach to the basic commandment to "love thy neighbour." She has founded seven homes for the homeless, created a stipend fund which supports many hundreds of students from disadvantaged families and works to eliminate social exclusion through numerous activities nation-wide. She has also brought up five foster children of her own. She is a part of “Chleb Zycia” community; she took the vows in France 1998. She was recognized with many awards: 1996 – woman of the year; 2010 – badge of honor “Za Zaslugi dla Ochrony Praw Czlowieka”, 2012 – priest Jozef Tischner price, 2012 – business woman of the year, activity for women.

Piotr Bielski

successfully spreads in Poland the mission of Laughter Yoga to bring about health, joy and world peace through unconditional laughter. He is happy to be the first Certified Laughter Yoga teacher from Poland trained by the founder of this relaxation method dr Madan Kataria in India. Since he came back from India, Piotr has run over 200 laughter yoga sessions in Poland: in public parks, yoga and personal development centers, companies, hospitals, social care houses as well as in prisons. The idea that he spreads is that everyone can laugh for better health and better mood irrespective of external conditions. Piotr is trained as sociologist and international relations specialist and works also as a freelance journalist in the field of sustainable development, education and health issues. He additionally works as a certified consultant of Mind Detox Method, a powerful stress reduction technique. Among his other passions are contact improvisation dance, cycling and sustainable and easy solutions that make world a better place.

Prof Jerzy Vetulani

a professor of natural sciences, psychopharmacologic, neurobiologist, biochemist. A member of Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences (PAU), doctor honoris causa of Silesian Medical University and Medical University in Lodz. An honorary member of Indian Academy of Neuroscience; an author of a few hundred researches of worldwide influence and of many publications including books; one of the most cited polish biomedical scientists, science popularizer. A supporter of marihuana legalization and general depenalization of drugs; laureate of many prizes and commendations, including international prize “Anna Monika II class” for researching the mechanisms of electroshocks (1983), prime minister’s prize for the overall research activity (2003), Copernican Prize from the city of Cracow (2001), prized with a Golden Cross of Merit and order of Rebirth of Poland. A member of many scientific organizations, both polish and international, including Collegium Internationale Neuropsychopharmacologicorum (CINP), European College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ECNP) and European Dana Association for Brain (EDAP). He is also active socially, being a vice-president of “for Malopolska Society” and honorary member of “Galician School of Health and Academy of Full Life”; regularly runs a mini-lecture in the comedy “Talking Dog”.

Piotr Michon

An economist by profession, husband and father by choice, amateur marathon runner and traveler by conviction. Works at the Poznan University of Economics. An author of the book “Economy of Happiness”, runs the Internet portal www.ekonomiaszczescia.pl . In his scientific works he combines achievements of many disciplines: economy, psychology, social psychology, sociology and neurology. Despite his preoccupation with economy he gets more excitement from exploring mistakes in every-day thinking rather than elaborating profit-making models.

Michal Przybysz

An ordinary 30-year old from a big city, working as a manager in an international company and realizing his dreams. Spent over 2 years travelling across different continents. He hitchhiked – sailing the Pacific and drove and travelled in a tractor through South America. Recently a big fan of windsurfing and jumping on a bed with his little son.
