TEDxMaristCollege is an independently organized TED event. Our goal is to create an open forum which fosters a conversation about leadership locally within our Marist College family, regionally across the Mid-Hudson Valley, and globally as we take a look at what leadership really is and what it means to lead.

At Marist we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of leadership and leadership development with a focus on our stated ideals of an excellence in education, a sense of community, and a commitment to service.

“By pursuing these ideals, we believe we will help students develop the intellect, character, and skills required for enlightened, ethical, and productive lives in the global community of the 21st century” -Dr. Dennis Murray, President, Marist College

TEDxMaristCollege challenges this idea, leadership, and what it means in the modern, ever changing world. Speakers from the Marist student body, faculty, and the Hudson Valley Community will be invited to share stories, poetry, theory, and lecture about leadership: What it is, where we can find it, and where it is (or should) be going.

Presented as a series of live talks and pre-recorded TED and TEDx presentations we will be discussing the overarching subject of leadership, characterized by the simple statement; Lead!

Lead! Signifying leadership not only as an academic topic, but as a living and active verb that commands as well as expects us to take on a challenge or mission of our own.

TEDxMaristCollege will be presented on May 12th 2013 in room 2023 of the Hancock Center at Marist College
