About this event

Think of life as a circus and people as acrobats, struggling to get to the other side of the thin rope or letting go of the trapeze, or better yet, juggling three items while trying not to fall off balance. Not only you have to be strong, determined and hard-working; but also fearless, courageous and daring enough to fulfil the task you have been given - the one you have chosen, if you are lucky. This happens to be the case in life now: no matter how talented we are, there needs to be more of us. Competency and excellence in one area is not enough to get ahead. We are asked to be diverse; our interests, abilities and talents need to be multi-directional.

With the changing world, where competition is tough and adaptation is necessary, we deem versatility as a very important element to survival. Hence our theme at TEDxBogaziciUniversity will revolve around people who have taken on the challenge of doing more, who have managed to continually add another interest to their repertoire, and finally, who, took that inevitable step to follow their dreams and discovered their uncovered talents.
