Contemporary and high quality education- this is cornerstone of competitiveness of any country and crucial element of new urban city’s environment. In post-industrial society the essence and technologies of education are fundamentally changing. Life long education, edutainment, education without diploma and other new trends take place in modern society, there is no big difference between high professional education and public one in comparison with past. Library of future is impossible without functions of life-long education. Traditionally this institution positions itself as place for enlightenment and public education helping people to fill ‘mental gaps’ . However existing technologies to gain of knowledge are not effective and old-fashioned ones.
What we should do to create new, contemporary and non-formal centers of education? Can we merge high and public education? How new educational practices looks? Can social media contribute in this process?
