Roermond - Herten

What differentiates a fool from a philosopher?
Both possess the power to create in one’s mind, new sensations that aren’t perceived yet.
What distinguishes an idiot from an inventor?
They both passionately create ideas that could shape our future, bringing forth inventions that are ahead of our time.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. We advocate the TED thought that sharing knowledge contributes to a better understanding of the world and makes a difference in this world.

TEDx stimulates a dialogue through TED-like experiences at a local level. We believe that bringing together imagination, ingenuity, inventiveness and inspiration will spark innovation.

We give the floor to dreamers, believers, fools, inspiring, and courageous, successful souls. By giving even the smallest idea a stage to share that mind-blowing idea, we contribute to the co-creation of a better world. As Thomas Friedman pointed out in his book ‘Hot, Flat and Crowded’ we should invent 1,000 ideas in 1,000 garages and at least one of the projects should succeed.

Ultimately, TEDxRoermond will be the fertile soil that generates ideas around the globe that are truly time changing.
