TEDxParkCityDaySchool is an event in collaboration with TEDxYouthDay that gives Park City students the unique opportunity of speaking publicly and passionately about their lives and interests. If you would like to set up an audition please feel out the audition form located in the "Additional Links" section of this page. TEDxYouthDay is a series of TEDx events happening all around the world coinciding with Universal Children’s Day in late November. These events are designed to empower and inspire young people. TEDxYouthDay events present a combination of live speakers and TEDTalks to audiences around the world. These events vary widely in size, format, and theme, but they share a common vision: inspiring curiosity, igniting new ideas, and empowering young leaders. All press requests should be sent to Jessie Levesque. Jessie Levesque is the official spokesperson for TEDxParkCityDaySchool. Please note that TEDx event organizers are not able to speak for the TED Conference. Any inquiry regarding TED should be sent to: Melody Serafino TEDx Media Liaison TEDxPR@groupsjr.com While we appreciate any coverage, we kindly ask that all journalists and/or bloggers be respectful of the difference between the TED and TEDx brands. The 'x' in 'TEDx' stands for "independently organized events." Any headline or text which implies "TED" is coming to Park City is misleading. Theo Herring

Originating from San Francisco, California, Theo Herring and his family moved to Utah when he was young and eventually settled in Park City. Theo is a passionate, intelligent, active, and confident middle school student who loves to spend time with his wonderful family; playing sports with his father, playing cards with his mother, and watching movies with his older brother, T.J. He loves to travel as much as he loves to take advantage of his fantastic community, and hopes to take advantage of his fantastic community, and hopes to find a future where he is happy working at a job he loves.

Shane Cumming

Seventh grade Parkite, Shane Cumming, can be found enjoying all this town has to offer year-round, skiing as many days as he can each winter then seamlessly transitioning into skateboarding when all the snow is gone. His other hobbies include making movies, photography, guitar, and lacrosse. His passion for snow and the local ski industry has helped Shane develop a strong interest in global warming and the effects that it is having on our community and the world. He dreams of making a significant change, one person at a time, one little thing here and there, to save our environment and the snow!

Sophia Dion

Blue Star Connection Ambassador of Utah, Bedell Guitar Performing Artist, and Make Your Own Monster Owner, Sophia Dion, is not your average 12 year old. This dream achieving singer-songwriter was born and raised in Park City, UT and discovered her talent for singing at the age of 3! When she is not playing guitar, bass, piano, or ukulele, Sophia can be found volunteering with Friends of Animals, Utah or longboarding with friends. Her dream is to travel the world, tour with amazing musicians, and be an inspiration to other young people (and hopefully ride an elephant in Thailand somewhere along the way).
