About this event

When we think and talk about technologies and adventures, do we perceive them as different phenomena or as similar ones?
They are similar, as development of any technology is an adventure for a researcher, inventor or developer. And they differ, as far as technology is a sequence of operations and procedures, while adventure is a unique state one can experience. Technology is well-defined and predetermined. Adventure is unpredictable.
However, today one can hardly claim that these phenomena cannot be combined. And we often come across mergers between technology and adventure. In search of a cure for AIDS American scientists created a fluorescent cat. Thanks to new materials robots learnt to express emotions. Nowadays technologies make new kinds of adventures possible: one can spend a day at the hotel at the bottom of the ocean, experience zero gravity in a shuttle launch simulator, or wander around the virtual Louvre.
Technology and adventure. What do these two words and two areas of human existence mean for us? What do we discover thanks to them? How do they help us understand and change the world and ourselves in it?
Engineers and scientists, thinkers and practitioners will share their answers to these and other exciting questions.
