Sahar Toghyani Tolatabadi
Sahar worked for the United Nations as an advocate for women and children’s rights and at the Iranian embassy in Manila as a translator for almost a year. She left both of her jobs in June to concentrate on her studies as a Mass Communication student of the Ateneo de Davao University
Arvin Baker is a student journalist currently studying in Ateneo de Davao University. He translates and proofreads articles for small companies, and is a writer/commentator for PacificPH, a professional gaming team based in Manila. He was born in the Philippines but spent most of his toddler years in Worcestershire in England, where the picturesque surroundings fueled his love for creative writing and literature in general. Today, he writes poems and short stories for his brothers and friends, and writes articles for anyone who needs them.
At 22, Karla Singson claims that organizing events and PR campaigns help her teach how to earn a living. But what really helps her live are writing and teaching. If fate gifts her with free time, she enjoys the company of poetry.
Singson carries a few debate and public speaking titles under her belt. She was the president of the Ateneo de Davao University Debate Varsity in 2009. Joining the debate team helped her develop strong principles on feminism, gender equality and youth empowerment. Eventually, these topics became her flagship advocacies, as evidenced by her youth-themed newspaper column which appears weekly in Mindanao Times.
Noy Narciso teaches film, theatre and arts for the Humanities and Letters department of the Ateneo de Davao University. He was a member of the Committee on Visual Arts of the National Commission for Culture and Arts from 2004 to 2010. Narciso specialises on improvisation, recycling objects to form into new creative pieces.
