Created in the spirit of TED's mission, "ideas worth spreading", TEDxYouth@NickelCity has gatherd the cities leading thinkers and doers to explore disruptive innovations, ideas and perspectives that are shifting our community locally, nationally and globally. During this one day of inspired thinking, you will hear from extraordinary visionaries, and doers who are challenging the way we experience our city today and shifting how we experience it tomorrow.
The theme for 2013, "SHIFT" is defined as a new direction, new tendencies, to transfer, switch, and or to alter. And as the Greater City of Sudbury continues to alter its path and adjust to global shifts taking place around the world, and even in our own community --- it only makes sense that we immerse ourselves in the changing ideas, memes and dreams from the intersecting world of technology, entertainment, and design with local ingenuity.
Together with young inquisitive minds, and local thought leaders, TEDxYouth@NickelCity hopes to inspire deep discussions and conversations on ideas that shift our thinking, disrupt the status quo and empower our youth and our citizens to engage in making our community and world a better place, and to go beyond the obvious.
TEDxYouth@NickelCity is a new learning platform and environment for Sudbury youth to stimulate and explore big ideas. Going into our second year, we invite you to soak up remarkable TEDxTalks from local youth and thought leaders, seasoned with inspirational performances, art, and music and be prepared to be moved.
