We laid the foundation for this event in our first TEDxYMCAAcademy -- "The Art and Science of Learning Disabilities". In our second TEDxYMCAAcademy, "The Heart and Soul of Learning Disabilities", we heard about the challenges and successes of students who learn differently. For our third event, we will look at the important question of the relationship between the concepts "machine" and "mind" as they affect our ideas about the diagnosis and treatment of learning disabilities, differentiated instruction, assistive technologies, and so on. This event is hosted by The YMCA Academy, a high school in central Toronto, serving students with learning differences.
