A real coup for Northern Ireland and Belfast, we are delighted to announce that we will be hosting the ‘Igniting Innovation’ TEDx event on 6 December 2012 at the College’s new e3 building. Network with like-minded business people with a thirst for fresh ideas and creative thinking. Hosted in the College’s new e3 building, this venue is the perfect location for nurturing innovation and unleashing talent.

Dr Nicola J Millard

Dr Nicola Millard is a customer experience futurologist with BT and combines psychology with futurology to try and anticipate what might be lying around the corner for both customers and organisations

Chintan Patel

Chintan Patel is currently Head of Collaboration Strategy for Cisco. He is responsible for business development, technology strategy, partnership development and Œgo-to-market planning. Chintan has worked with major public and private sector clients across the world helping them to achieve maximum value from digital collaboration and develop new market offerings from emerging technologies.

Tim Hynes

Tim Hynes is Senior Director at Microsoft IT. He is a passionate advocate of courageous leadership, believing leaders can only inspire the people in their care if they themselves know who they are and what they stand for. Tim is an innovative and inspirational leadership speaker who has addressed thousands across the globe. His ideas have motivated people in cultures as different as the USA, Europe, Japan, India and many more.

Marie-Thérèse McGivern

Marie-Thérèse McGivern was appointed Principal and Chief Executive of Belfast Metropolitan College in November 2009. With over 30,000 enrolments, Belfast Met is the largest Further and Higher Education College in Northern Ireland and one of the biggest anywhere in the UK. Over her 35 year career Marie-Thérèse has worked in both the voluntary and public sectors most recently as Director of Development at Belfast City Council for 10 years, and before that in the Belfast Regeneration Office, Making Belfast Work, the Northern Ireland Youth Council and Youth Action NI. She is a Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster and an Honorary Member of the Royal Society of Ulster Architects.
