Johnson OeiJohnson Oei is one of the pioneers of EPIC Homes, an initiative that focuses on building sustainable housing for underprivileged Malaysian communities. Coming from a background in business, Johnson’s endeavour into the world of social entrepreneurship began when him and his friends made a Facebook event calling for volunteers to help build a toilet and paint some Orang Asli houses. The project was immensely successful and quickly grew from there. Johnson believes that all of his companies’ doings must give back to society to make the world a better place.

Wivina BelmonteAt age 33, Wivina became the youngest person and only the second woman to run the London office of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. As a TV news producer, she went around the world, covering global events from “the front row of history”; going to war zones in Africa, Europe and the Middle East, reporting on the election of Nelson Mandela in South Africa, the Hong Kong handover, and as she puts it “seeing the world at its best – and worst”. Three careers and more than 100 countries later, she now lives in Kuala Lumpur and is UNICEF’s Representative in Malaysia.
Wong Ee LynnVolunteer Extraordinaire Wong Ee Lynn once said that “volunteering empowers you to be the difference you want to see”. For years, the professionally trained lawyer has actively and extensively volunteered to be that difference for causes close to her heart, primarily animal welfare and environmental ones. The senior SPCA volunteer who started in 1996 has also been a member of the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) since 2001. She started a personal animal rescue project called Project Second Chance 7 years ago. The list goes on. The extent of her activism and voluntary work done during her spare time would put most to shame.
