Amy Krouse Rosenthal
Amy Krouse Rosenthal is a person who likes to make things. Some things she likes to make: Children's books. Grown-up books. Short films. Salads. Connections with the universe. Something out of nothing. Wishes. According to The New York Times, Amy's award-winning children's books "radiate fun the way tulips radiate spring: they are elegant and spirit-lifting." Her 20+ books for children include Plant a Kiss, Wumbers, Little Pea, Spoon, The Wonder Book, Cookies: Bite-Size Life Lessons, and Duck! Rabbit!. As for her adult work, Amazon named Encyclopedia of an Ordinary Life one of the top 10 memoirs of the decade. A contributor to the TED conference and NPR, she is currently the host and creator of Mission Amy KR.com produced by WBEZ. Her short films include The Beckoning of Lovely, The Money Tree, The Kindness Thought Bubble, and ATM Always Trust Magic.
Ginger Krieg Dosier
Ginger Krieg Dosier holds a Master of Architecture (2005) from the Cranbrook Academy of Art and a Bachelor of Interior Design (2000) from the Auburn University College of Architecture, Design and Construction. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Architecture at the American University of Sharjah College of Architecture, Art and Design, United Arab Emirates.
Josh Perfetto is a software engineer turned biotech entreprenur. Co-founder of the OpenPCR project he is also on the board of BioCurious.
He is the co-founder of Transition Town Totnes and of the Transition Network. This grew out of many years experience in education, teaching permaculture and natural building, and setting up the first 2 year full-time permaculture course in the world, at Kinsale Further Education College in Ireland, as well as co-ordinating the first eco-village development in Ireland to be granted planning permission. He is author of ‘The Transition Handbook: from oil dependence to local resilience’, which has been published in a number of languages
Illac Diaz is a social entrepreneur working in the ASEAN region empowering communities through the use of sustainable construction and appropriate technologies. Through the MyShelter Foundation, several pioneering programs in the country in rammed earth, bamboo, and PET plastic bottle construction.
Miles is co-founder, President, and Chief Technology Officer at Ubiquitous Energy, Inc., and is developing a portfolio of photovoltaic technologies that enable seamless deployment of light-harvesting functionality in the form of products and surfaces we interact with every day. Barr received a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 2012 from MIT, where his research focused on vapor deposition of electrically active organic molecules and polymers for flexible electronics. Barr was a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and winner of the prestigious Lemelson-MIT Student Prize in 2012 for his innovations in solar energy and organic electronics. Prior to MIT, he majored in chemical engineering, mathematics, and music at Vanderbilt University
Pouneh Roney has a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London and trained as a Secondary (High School) Mathematics and Science teacher at University of Gloucestershire. She has been an Advanced Skills Teacher and school leader both in the UK and internationally, with over 14 years of experience. In 2009, she undertook a Masters degree in Mind, Brain & Education at Harvard University, Graduate School of Education to deepen her understanding of learning and teaching in light of the latest research in cognitive neuroscience.
