On the 16th March 2013 Loughborough played host to its first TEDx conference. The theme of the conference was "Painting Humanity" in which we demonstrated to a local and global audience, human nature through diverse cultural experiences.
Why paint a picture of humanity?
As our society is evolving faster and faster, this conference gives an opportunity to stop and think about who we are, where we want to go and what we seek in the future. At the centre of this understanding is the idea of acknowledging the importance of human heart and recognising that parallel to our advancements in science; we need to advance as human beings. Using their inspirational stories and humbling experiences, the speakers will reveal a way in which we can build a more serene and gentle society. While some of the talks take us to the dawn of man, others allow glancing at the distant future; all speak of the enduring importance of the kindness and wisdom of the human heart.
