In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized (subject to certain rules and regulations).

Haytham Desouki

Hytham is a specialist in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He is 25 years old, an Al Azhar University graduate and a researcher at Nile University. Since his early childhood, he was passionate about science and cartoons. He used to study how toys work and their parts. His first invention was at the age of 12, when he devised an alarm for people whose pulse rate goes below 60 pulse/minute. He has many inventions including glasses that work instead of computer screen and a device that gets ozone gas from atmospheric air to be used afterwards in water purification. While he was working on a ring-shaped mouse equipped with the touch technologies, he decided to take it to the next stage and invent the touch stickers, the invention that won the first place in the TV program "Sciences Stars" on MBC. Haytham will talk about his success story, his inventions and his experience.

Amr Mohsen

Amr obtained his French baccalaureat in Cairo in 1974, joined the faculty of engineering Alexandria University & received a BSc in Mechanical Power in 1979. He went on to obtain an MSc in Field Development Economics from the “Institut Francais du Petrole” in Paris in 1981, joined Shell International in The Hague Holland & spent the following 14 years in assignments in Holland, Thailand, Algeria & Indonesia. His last assignment with Shell was as Head of Field Development Economics in Muscat, Oman. In 1998, he decided to shift to renewable energy & started Lotus, Technologies in 1998, then Lotus Solar Technologies in 2000 in Cairo. LST has won an international tender, completed & operated the world’s first & still the largest solar process steam plant for the ministry of electricity

Ahmed Haggagovic

Haggagovic is an Egyptian Globe Trotter, World Adventurer, Peace Activist, a Passion For Inspiring Youth all over planet Earth. Known as the Unusual Ambassador of Egypt and the Egyptian Ibn Battuta as well as Ibn Battuta of the 21st century and the Flag Raiser. Haggagovic have travelled to 94 countries around the world till this moment and He is supposed to be the first human in history to travel all around the world in a mission to raise his country flag Egyptian Flag in every country in the world, and promoting his message of "Freedom , Happiness and Peace , One World United No Borders , No Racism " all over the Globe.

Sarrah Abdel EL Rahman

Inspired by the 18 days of Tahrir, Egyptian actress, Sarrah Abdelrahman, started a video blog dedicated to questioning Egyptian norms and taboos. With a special focus on ‘military dictatorship’, Sarah believes that the ‘new media’ is a necessary “to defeat an army, not just years of street battles.” With digital content production as her weapon-of-choice, she enters into a relatively recent debate about the relationship of digital media activism and change on the ground.

Sherif Talaat

Sherif born in February 7th, 1988 in Cairo. He is graduated from the faculty of Computer Science & Management Technologies, Modern Academy. He is very passionate and enthusiastic about computer science and technologies, his journey started since he was 3 year old when his dad brought to him a “Commodore 64” device. Sherif is now working as a Regional Technology Solution Professional at Microsoft Middle East & Africa, Center of Expertise. Also, He got awarded as Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) for four years in a row and he was the youngest awardee in the history of this award when he got it for the first time. Last but not least, in last July he was honored to represent Egypt in Microsoft ImagineCup Technology Competition and won the 2nd place.

Abdel Rahman Magdy

Abdelrahman is the Founder & CEO of Egypreneur, started Egypreneur 2008 and invested his last three years in spreading entrepreneurial thinking and exploring how can we make entrepreneurship work in Egypt, Abdelrahman currently is leading the execution of Egypreneur's establishment strategy building platforms, hubs and designing programs to make it easier for Egyptian entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. Abdelrahman is typically affected by the entrepreneurship virus most of his time if not going into building platforms, hubs or programs for Egypreneur, it goes into networking, consulting, coaching and training future entrepreneurs.
