*Conversation & viewing highlights of TEDxWomen 2011* Join us for an interactive and technologically-enhanced collective conversation seeking to inspire women in all fields to embrace urgency, become the role models they seek and the leaders of today. This organic, collective conversation will lead us into viewing portions of the larger global conversation that is the TEDxWomen 2011. (We will be viewing a portion of the conference after our initial conversation). We seek to further the vision of Ryerson University as a space where people from all walks of life can empower themselves to make their mark on our world. ** Join the interactive discussion now at www.tedxryersonu.ca/women ** Our conversation will follow a TEDx talk to be delivered live by Daphne Bennett. The conversation of 'Taking a Leap: Embrace the Leader in You' leads us into the larger global TEDxWomen 2011 conversations themes such as 'ReImagine' and 'Resilience'. A blend between a viewing of the “best of” talks from the TEDxWomen 2011 Global Conference and an innovative showcasing of female voices of the Ryerson and the Greater Toronto community. This discussion will blur the lines between audience and speaker, creating a large interactive and collective conversation by utilizing the Ryerson community’s leading-edge technology including from the Digital Media Zone. **Seating is limited, to attend the event, Email email@example.com to RSVP and receive instructions on how to join the interactive conversation in person or online** Soapbox technology will send real-time summaries of questions and comments that resonate most with the audience and will then be ‘pushed’ to our host Gwen Elliot (of the TV Show ‘Start Something Big’) and our moderator, Ryerson VP Administration and Finance Julia Hanigsberg to help guide the collective conversation. The space will be transformed by Meta-Tema, who will alter visual aspects in the room to reflect the collective thoughts and reactions to the live conversations as well as highlight elements of the discussion resonating with the audience. In using this technology we seek to create a living room atmosphere to engage the audience and create dialogue about the experiences of our contributors. Conversation Contributors will be women in different stages of their careers sharing their experiences, obstacles, reflections and stories regarding their journeys. Our Conversation Contributors will include: Annette Verschuren, Kristyn Wong-Tam, Nam Kiwanuka, Valerie Fox, Maya Mboup and Tracy Leparulo Join us for the interactive conversation and viewing portions of the 2011 TEDxWomen conference.
