H. Marshall McLuhan would have been 100 years old in 2011, and had he lived to see the changes in media technology over the past decades since his death he would have undoubtedly had something to say. The event's theme is an homage to his 1964 book "Understanding Media: The Extensions of Man." Speakers will address different aspect of "understanding community" from how we get our food to how we care for our aging population.
